Support the NPWS draft management plan for Mugii Murum-ban State Conservation Area

Please write a submission in support of the draft plan of management for Mugii Murum-ban SCA. Once adopted, the plan will enable the NPWS to manage, protect and present the park's heritage and natural values, just as they deserve to be.

Adapt the guide letter on this link to make a personalised submission. By making a submission you will help secure better management for this important part of the Gardens of Stone region.

Submission period now extended to 31st of December 2015

Mugii, as this 3,650 hectare park is affectionately known, is the latest addition to the Gardens of Stone reserves. It was gazetted in 2011.

The reserve is a veritable ‘Luna Park’ of heritage values, by which I mean there are many different values jammed closely next to one another. It is a great place to reconnect with nature and the cultural heritage
there helps us to relocate our place in the natural world.

Unfortunately, some off road vehicle enthusiasts are demanding unrestricted use the park as they enjoyed before the area was reserved. None of us like to have our use controlled, but the management plan doesn't favour one interest over another, it just gives nature a breathing space.

We all need to take a step back and show respect for our heritage, so I urge you to support this plan with a submission.
