View the video of the Gardens of Stone – a threatened wonderland

This excellent video of dramatic images by Ian Brown and others (see below) that Karen McLaughlin has put to original new music by the noted composer Amanda Handel, with the assistance of the composer.

Special thanks to those who generously donated their images for this video: Andrew Valja, Rob Baigent, Judith Bennett, Ian Brown, Julie Flavell, Chris Jonkers, John Harris, Akos Lumnitzer, Julian Robinson, Sonja Ross and L & M Turton, Julie Favell and Chris Jonkers.

All the spectacular images in this show are taken from the unprotected Gardens of Stone that is now threatened by open-cut coal mining. The images are of the forests and wonderful sandstone pagodas formations at risk. The dramatic images also include some of the 135 native birds and animals found there.

The music you hear in this presentation is one of fourteen tracks from the recently released album 'Gardens of Stone'. The compositions by Amanda Handel, in collaboration with Michael Jackson, are inspired by the Blue Mountains, NSW.
