Negotiations needed over Springvale mine’s invalid consent

“The orders made by the NSW Court of Appeal today are a trigger for the parties* to sit down and negotiate,” Keith Muir director of the Colong Foundation for Wilderness revealed.

“Centennial Coal can’t continue to pollute the Coxs River. A responsible solution is needed that acknowledges the strong laws that protect Sydney’s drinking water catchments,” Mr Muir said.

“The controversial Springvale mine requires new arrangements that fix the identified and on-going problems of pollution and environmental damage”,Mr Muir said.

"The Colong Foundation has urged Planning Minister Roberts to become involved," he said.
