Protecting Wilderness and National Parks

Thank you everyone!

The Colong Foundation celebrates its Golden Anniversary:

Download our special edition of the Colong Bulletin as a memento of our 50th anniversiary.

Batsh Camp - the gathering of the Colong tribe, despite NPWS closure of most of the camp site due to risk of falling tree limbs, was a great adventure. We had the place to ourselves to recall old tales and true stories till late on Saturday night 29th September, 2018. Nobody was speared (by a tree limb), and it was by all accounts a fine and lovely weekend.

Alex Colley Wilderness Symposium talk (pdf) by Andy Macqueen was held on 2 September, University of Western Sydney, Hawkesbury Campus,

- watch/listen to this talk - youtube.

Wild Light was another stunningly successful event, as most pictures sold, and some were sold several times over. Everyone loved the beautiful range of landscape images from across NSW and Australia. You may still buy a Henry Gold wilderness photograph from the on-line gallery

Celebration events from earlier in the year

In keeping with Colong Foundation traditions, we kicked off our anniversary year with a campaign launch - We had a successful forum on saving the Blue Mountains' wild rivers from the raising of Warragamba Dam wall with Bob Debus and Bob Brown on 26 March, at The Hub, Springwood was a great success. Over 400 people attended.

If you missed it, you can watch a video of the event.

Colong Foundation Anniversary Dinner - Tuesday 29 May, 6pm at Club York, with our Patron, Professor Bob Carr was a great success..! Everyone enjoyed the good humour of Alex Allchin, who was MC and Bob Carr who addressed the audience about the history of the Colong Foundation and also light heartedly ran for his life to promote the launch of his political memoir at 11am, 2 July at Dymocks in George St, Sydney.

Thank you for your participation in our 50th Anniversary celebrations!
