DESCRIPTION

The West Hamersley Range area is underlain by folded Precambrian basalts,
granites and sedimentary rock. The upper catchment of the Robe River takes up a
large part of the area, while narrow valleys contain creeks which drain to the
Ashburton and Robe Rivers. [1]

Vegetation within the area is predominantly an open savannah woodland of
Eucalyptus leucoploia with a number of other eucalypts and hummock grasses. Open
woodland tracts of mulga (Acacia aneura) are also common. [2]
