DESCRIPTION
Much of the Durack River area is a gently undulating plateau through which the
Upper Durack, Wood and Salmond Rivers flow. These streams have cut gorges
through the Proterozoic sandstones. In the Bluff Face Ranges water action over
millenia has created dramatic sandstone cliff faces. [1]
Low woodland is the dominant vegetation type with a number of eucalypt species
being represented. An understorey of hummock grasses is common. [2]
