LAND USE HISTORY
Occupation of the block by Aborigines focused on the areas around inlets,
estuaries and wetlands. Archaeological surveys have identified a large number of
shell middens south of the Betka River. These consisted mainly of the remains of
rock platform shellfish. The appecar to represent transitory camps made by small
gropus moving along the coast from one inlet to another or making brief visits
to the coast from inland camps. [3]
