DESCRIPTION

This area comprises low undulating hills in the west dissected by the lower

east. Proterozoic and Cambrian sediments underlie most of the area, with
occasional outcrops of Proterozoic granites occurring.
[1]

Vegetation within the area consists of hummock grassland of spinifex (Triodia
pungens and Plectrachne) with low wodlands and shrublands of Acacia species,
particularly mulga. Eucalypt woodlands fringe the Frew River. [2]

Fauna within the area is representative of arid environments, with the Plains
Turkey (or Bustard) being common. Waterbirds, including Brolgas and Jabirus,
